New DOT rated glass window is bonded into the rear window section. From the exterior, the edge around the window has a clean, finished appearance with no piping needed to hide stitching, gluing or imperfections that may arise from other bonding methods. The fabric has been carefully notched by a computer controlled cutter around the radius to ensure proper adhesion around the entire perimeter to eliminate potential leaking. The technology is unique and protected by worldwide patents and we guarantee the bond to the original purchaser for the life of the vehicle.

ABOUT THE FABRIC

Haartz Twillfast RPC is considered an Acoustic topping and reduces noise. Acrylic face and polyester backing. Backing is black and has a Dobby (crosshatch) pattern. Haartz cloth topping materials are constructed using a three-ply method that has an acrylic or polyester/acrylic exterior (facing) and a cloth lining (backing). These materials are combined using an elastometric or rubber film that is sandwiched between them. This provides waterproofing and gives the material its stretch. Increasing the thickness of the rubber film will reduce the amount of noise in the vehicle interior. These thicker toppings are referred to as Acoustic and are becoming standard on most new cars.

In model years 2000-2004 Ford added a rubber weather seal sewn into the top that provides additional protection to the interior from the weather and some reduction to exterior road noise. This weather seal is sewn into all of our Mustang tops.
