For the 1997 thru 2002 Boxster and Boxster S
Boxster convertible tops are made from the original German A5 Sonnenland cloth. And, we offer a black canvas top manufactured from an upgraded German A5B/DS High Level Acoustic cloth. These Porsche tops are manufactured in the US from the original design and meet all specifications. The window is bonded using an advanced, robotic controlled system that has a beautifully finished appearance without any unsightly stitching, piping or trim around the exterior of the window.
1997-2002 Boxster Glass Window tops, like the new models, have a smaller rear window to allow it to fit into the top boot.
Our glass window is slightly tinted to match your front and side windows and has the embedded defroster glass wiring and a
new wiring harness to connect it to the existing electrical system.
Stay original with a Boxster top that includes a new sewn-in tinted plastic
window. Available in original Haartz OEM materials and colors, in addition to
some lower cost options.

The window bonding system on our tops is a proprietary and patented process that produces a secure and beautifully finished appearance with no unsightly piping and stitching around the outer face of the window.

Haartz German A5B/DS is an acoustically enhanced upgrade available in black. It provides up to 2dB (a noticeable) sound reduction improvement over standard topping.

How the Glass Window Fits
The 1997-2002 Porsche Boxster convertible tops were offered with plastic rear windows. You can purchase a replacement top with either an original style plastic window or a glass window similar to the 2003 and newer Boxsters.
The Boxster glass window is a DOT approved aftermarket window with the safety emblems and includes embedded defroster wiring and a wire harness kit to connect it to the vehicle's electrical system. Like the newer Boxster, the glass windows for the 1997-2002 Boxster are smaller than the plastic window.
This is necessary since the larger plastic window folds when it is retracted into the top boot. Glass window size is 35.5" wide by 12'' tall to allow it to fit into the boot properly. In addition to the size, we supply extra tension straps to help the glass window fall into place as it opens and an electrical wiring harness to connect the embedded heating elements in the window to the side mirror defrosters.
The trade-off when upgrading to glass is a slight loss in visibility because of the size and a big gain in clarity in your rear view mirror looking through glass compared to a plastic window that will discolor over time. We also believe this glass window upgrade will significantly improve resale value.
