Plastic Window Replacement Top

1997-2002 Porsche Boxster and Boxster S convertible tops are manufactured in the USA using the original patterns and specifications to the original vehicle. This includes OEM German Acoustic Canvas fabrics and OEM color options. Haartz A5 Canvas is imported from Germany and truly is a premium quality topping for the Porsche Boxster.

* high level acoustic canvas available in black only. Other colors use premium 3-ply German A5 canvas that has also been acoustically enhanced but not rated high acoustic by the manufacturer.

WINDOW

Includes a new green tinted plastic window. The original rear window is zippered utilizing a patented Porsche system. All aftermarket tops that we know of, including this one, is non-zippered.

FABRIC

Manufactured using premium German (Sonnenland) A5 high level acoustic canvas. This is an upgraded material compared to the OEM original raw material is imported directly from Haartz Germany. The canvas is an acoustically enhanced three-ply composite made of an acrylic twill weave outer fabric, a rubber inner layer and a polyester lining fabric.

It has a silkier finish, is longer lasting, and has better acoustic properties than the standard A5 fabric. What makes this top special is it is manufactured with the Black German A5 Acoustic Topping material, which is noticeably quieter. AutoTopsDirect.com is one of only a select few in the country offering this material to the aftermarket. It is available in Black only.

  • Stitched with matching colors using the finest bonded polyester threads
  • DOT approved heavy .040 gauge sewn-in, tinted plastic window
  • Factory-style rain guard sewn-in along length of convertible top to direct water flow
  • Factory-style sewn-in plastic retainers pre-drilled for easy, accurate mounting
  • Deck seams are heat-sealed using specialized tape to eliminate heat-seal press marks on exterior
  • Windows are double stitched and include finish trim piping on the outside
  • Front corners are reinforced with moisture resistance PVC for added durability

Great product, fast economical shipping, arrived within a few days, fit well, looks great, if you are handy and have a little foresight you'll be able to install in 10hrs.  suggest you watch the various videos on YouTube before you start it will make instructions supplied easier to understand.  HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT !!

Ordered the above-referenced top and rec'd it in approximately 5 days. The price was fair and the shipping was timely. No complaints there.

However, I was never able to download installation instructions; the web site says they'll be available for download after purchase. I contacted the company on two separate occasions -- via direct email AND by using the "contact us" form -- and requested information on how to receive the instructions. No one replied.

I ultimately paid an installer to replace the top, so this did not have an effect on me -- he knew how to install the top -- but this COULD definitely affect others.
