First time I ordered and used the black NA soft top with plastic back window and rain rail pre attached, I was impressed with the quality and price. That was 2 years ago on my wife's miata and it still looks perfect. Now I just ordered another one for my own miata and was equally impressed. Very high quality product. Highly recommended product.

Affordable Quality — can the two exist together?	October 10, 2023

My Miata needed a new top. AutoTops Direct was mentioned in several Miata forums as being a reasonably priced, quality top. ATD had a sale, and that made the cost an absolute bargain. I pulled the trigger, and got the top and new tension cables. I did the work myself, using YouTube videos as instructions. The top came out incredible. Material & workmanship look to be excellent — far better than I expected given the rock-bottom price. I wish it had come with instructions (I later learned that immediately after you make a purchase, some free online instructions are available. That was not made clear to me at the time I made my purchase, so I missed out on getting them. So look for that option when you buy yours. Regardless, I do think they should just post free instructions online, to be available at any time.). Overall, I am extremely happy with the ATD products. Time will tell if they hold up, but for now, it sure appears that an affordable replacement top of high quality DOES exist!

Extremely high quality top for the cost	October 15, 2021

I was drastically in need of a new top for my 1990 Mazda Miata that I had recently acquired. It was tattered and separated in the areas above both windows, and the rear window was sun faded and cracked.

I bought the cabrio style black vinyl top with a rear plastic window from here and it is LEAGUES above my old top as far as quality. I bought the new one with the rain rail attached and highly recommend everyone do the same if you still have the original rain rail.

The rivets on the installed rail were not quite perfectly lined up with the studs in the car, and the installation of the top itself on the frame was an affair all it's own, but it was well worth the effort. Very easy to recommend AutoTops for their quality and shipping speed. It was cheaper than from Amazon!

The top itself is excellent, a great fit and good to look at.
But, when another company’s instructions are clearer and easier to follow it indicates how poor these ones were.
Watch YouTube, wear gloves, it took me three hours.

I found no instructions or any hardware of any kind. I could also not find instructions on the website. The top looks nice prior to installation, but I am having trouble installing it without instructions.

Great top, good luck with installation	August 16, 2019

The top arrived late, but I blame UPS. I called all 4 of the locations listed as installers; none would install the top. After calling other shops, I finally found one willing to put it on. The top looks great and fits great, just a hassle to get it installed. My suggestion is to call the suggested upholstery shops FIRST before ordering.
